Where is NEST based?

Nest is based in Kloof, Durban, South Africa, but as a web-based retailer we are able to service customers nationwide.

Does NEST ship overseas?

At this stage, we only offer despatch within South Africa and to neighbouring African countries. This may change in the future, so do keep in contact.

Where can I view the NEST range?

NEST is an online shop selling directly to the public – we do not have stores.

Where are NEST products made?

Our products are manufactured mainly in Europe. A small percentage of our range is made in Asia and also South Africa.

How can we contact you?

At NEST we’ve introduced a novel feature in e-commerce – it’s called “Talk to a Human”. If you get frustrated with our website or if you need more information to help you shop with confidence then just pick up the phone and dial 082 747 5443. You’ll be able to speak to a human from 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week. And what’s more, this human will have first-hand knowledge and experience regarding the product you are calling about!

Is the product flat packed?

All of our furniture comes flat packed with simple assembly instructions, so that customers aren’t charged for things they could easily do themselves. Larger items are also transported flat-packed, to make it easier to get them into the chosen room. Some of our smaller products come ready-assembled.

Why is the product flat packed?

Our larger products, that have to travel distances, are all designed to be flat packed to save on shipping space and therefore reduce transportation expenses. Once assembled most 3D products have a large amount of air within them. When shipping, this becomes very expensive air. By supplying our products flat packed, we are also able to lower our storage space requirements, decrease transportation damages and reduce our labour costs. All of these savings are passed onto you – the customer.

Are NEST products difficult to assemble?

To ensure we are able of offer accurate advice, we have assembled the majority of our products (including our bunks, mid and high sleeper beds) ourselves. Check with us first to see how much time you will need to allow for the assembly process. Assembly times vary depending on the product-type and number of parts. Of course, it is always easier and quicker, if you have some assistance – we recommend this! Our assembly instructions take you step by step through the assembly process, and we’re always just a phone call away if more help is required. IMPORTANT – always check hardware and parts against the inventory before you start assembly!

Do you offer an assembly service?

We do not offer our own assembly service. If you require assistance with assembly, then please let us know – we can normally recommend professional handymen in your area to help. However, please note that the arrangement needs to be made by you with the recommended handyman. NEST cannot take responsibility for any damages caused during the assembly process. If you are hiring your own handyman, please ensure that they are appropriately qualified to do the job.

What payment methods do you accept?

It is our mission to make paying for your products as easy as possible. We offer two main methods which will allow you to quickly and effortlessly pay for your new products. You can either pay by EFT or by credit card online, both methods are completely secure. There is a R30,000.00 transaction limit for Credit Card payments. This is a temporary precaution to help prevent fraudulent transactions. We ask that if your order value is higher than R30,000.00, that you pay using the other PayFast payment alternatives, or via traditional EFT/Direct deposit.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Can I order via email or by telephone?

Yes, if you’d prefer to order via email or telephone rather than buy online, just send us an email to orders@nestdesigns.co.za and we will send you an invoice.

Will I be emailed a tax invoice?

Yes, the NEST system will automatically invoice you a tax invoice once you have checked out and made payment or if you ordered via email or telephone we will email you an invoice within 24 hours.

What is the NEST bunk, mid and high sleeper beds recommended age for use?

The recommended age for use for the top bunk, mid and high sleepers is 6+ years.

Does NEST supply custom-made furniture?

No, the NEST range is designed, developed and manufactured to our own standard specifications. Our range is produced off-shore to minimum order quantities and is exclusive.

Can products be made in other colours?

Unfortunately, due to minimum order quantities, products are only available in the colours as shown on our website or in our catalogue.

What is the lead-time on furniture that is not in stock?

The lead-time is generally 4-8 weeks. Please check with us for more specific information.

If I am buying a gift to be despatched directly to the recipient’s address, can I add a personal gift message to my order?

Yes, we can incorporate personalised messages. Call us on 082 747 5443. Please note that at this stage, we unfortunately do not offer a gift wrap service. This may change in the future, so do keep in contact.
